Old News.. 11/07/00 : I didn't forget about you collectors out there! The Image Gallery now has new images of a Johnny Statue, tap handle, bar sign and a new label. The History Section has also been given a good update based on emails from family member of the former vice-president and the former secretary (see update from Oct. 26.) 10/30/00 : No new pictures today, but check out the updated History Section with new information about Prohibition! There will be many exciting things being added to the History section this week! 10/26/00 : What a great last few days.... Monday of this week, I was able to view the Manning Brother's Collection - the collection of photos used by Peter Blum in Brewed in Detroit. Also, I began sorting through photos of delivery trucks in the Detroit Public Library's Historic Auto Collection. To top it off, I have gotten emails from the family of Pfeiffer's former vice-president M. J. Boyd and from the family of Pfeiffer's former secretary and treasurer G. E. Delaney! Updates to the site have been limited to a few (but very nice!) can images added to the Image Gallery. 10/25/00 : Added a bunch of stories that had been hiding in inbox to the Stories Section. There have been a few small updates as well.. 10/23/00 : This weekend I was able to tour inside of the C. Pfeiffer Brewery! I took quite a few photos as well. I haven't posted the photos yet, but I did add photos of another Pfeiffer building to the Image Gallery. Just check out the Brewery Section to see the new photos. Also, a new sign and a new can image have been added. Best of all, check out the new story in the Stories Section. 10/19/00 : Today I fixed some dead links that were created in the History Section and Image Gallery. Also, you may have noticed that this section is much smaller because I moved "Old News" to its own page (see bottom). Something that you may have not noticed is that this site contains various "secret links". This is where we have added fun photos of my friends and other things. To find a secret link, look for a word that has one letter underlined like this. If you are good enough, you will find tons of these secret links through out the site! 10/18/00 : The Pfeiffer Beer Tribute Page is officially one year old today! I have spent the last few days adding to the brewery history. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to talk to Peter Blum, author of Brewed in Detroit. He gave me some great new info on Pfeiffer and a few leads on other information as well. Also, new images have been added in the Signs and Print Sections of the Image Gallery. At home, the Pfeiffer Pub is nearing completion. In case you don't know, the Pfeiffer Pub is the wet bar in my basement that I use to display my personal Pfeiffer collection. Everything from old pre-pro items to bottles friends and I drank! And, as always, if I can't display it, I'd rather have another collector have an item... so feel free to email me if you are looking for items (or selling!) FYI: New email address is Brad@PfeifferBeer.com . 10/14/00 : Today we updated the Label Section of the Image Gallery by adding previews and a handful of new images. Yesterday, I took delivery of 2 GIQ bottles of Famous Beer to add to the bar! BTW: Oct. 18 will be the One Year Anniversary of this site! 10/13/00 : Had a little too much fun at the Moby concert in Detroit last night, so today's updates were a little light.. But, check out the Image Gallery for 2 new Wallpapers (very cool!) and we added images in the Glass and Wearables Gallery. Go see 'em! The "Pfeiffer's Pub" is coming along too! I have almost finished repainting the bar, hooked up 2 tap handles and hung a sign. Images will be added when construction is complete... 10/11/00 : Today was productive! We added previews to the Print and Can Galleries. The Sign Gallery was also given additional previews. All three of those sections have also been given new images. In all, over a dozen images were added today! Our Links Section has been given two new links as well. For those of you who have written, my DirecTV install went pretty well. I did it by myself and about half of the install happened in the dark! But I was able to get a signal in time for Dark Angel on FOX. We haven't had TV since we got the house in February, so even commercials were exciting. Sad, I know.. :) 10/09/00 : Mondays... Today we finished getting the Image Gallery online! In addition to moving the scores of images from our old host, over a dozen images have been added in the last week. We have about 20 more to add in the next week or so. Tomorrow we are taking the day off so I can install my DSS! :) Note: Please send me an email if you ever see more than one banner advertisement on any of the pages... Our new server seems to have a bug that causes that from time to time. It never seems to last very long, but I'd like to know. 10/06/00 : Lots of work done in the last day or so. We put up the announcement at the old address, so people will start to visit this site more. Also, we are working on making the site more friendly to people using 800x600 resolution. The Signs, Brewery, Bottle and Can Sections of the Image Gallery have been enabled too! New thumbnails are being added too. I know I said I'd wait before I added any new images, but I guess I lied! Look in the Bar Items Section of the Image Gallery for some new photos. Check out the press releases in the Brewery History too! 10/05/00 : So, maybe an explanation is in order for the long delay? Fair enough. As you can see, the site was last updated on a regular basis in February. Well, here are the excuses :) - That month, I bought a house with my then fiancé Jodi. In May, we got married. And in July, I quit my job with one auto company and started working for another. So, that is 3 big life events in a very short amount of time! Add to that the fact that Homepage.com would not let me add any files to their server (we had exceeded 10MB.) But, we are on a new server now (or in the process of doing so) and I have a notebook computer which has helped A LOT! In the last few months, I have learned a lot more HTML, so as you can see, the site is more elaborate. We are now using a "framed" page which loads faster and looks a bit better. We are also using thumbnail previews. So please check out the site and make sure there are no bugs. New images will be added shortly, but for now, we are going to concentrate on getting the gallery working. (As of today, the Bar Items and Main Galleries are working). And keep those emails coming! 10/03/00 : Ok, so it's been like half a year, but what can I say! Today was the official start of the "move" from our server at Homepage.com to Freeservers.com... The reason? More space and we were able to purchase the new address PfeifferBeer.com. Most of you won't stumble onto this new home for us until the move is complete, but believe me - it is a lot of work! Moving 10 megs of files with a dial up connection and getting them in the right places will be a chore! I want to thank you all for all the emails in the last few months. I have really gotten some nice ones! There seems to be a lot of visitors from Germany lately too.... cool! 02/16/00 : Finally some updates! 11 new images were added the Can section of the Image Gallery. About half of them are brand new and the others are higher quality versions of previously seen items. I also recompressed all of the images in the Can and Carrier Section. Please keep those submissions coming and I will post them as soon as I can! As far as my exceeding the 10MB limit for Homepage.com, I have it pretty much fixed for now. I want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone for emailing me and visiting this site! 01/22/00 : Yesterday I tried to upload a bunch of great images when something bad happened... I ran out of room at Homepage.com! That is right, the Pfeiffer Tribute Page has exceeded its 10MB limit of disc space.. I am considering my options. As a temporary fix, I found some files that were outdated and removed them. Despite this, I was able to update the Bar Items, Bottles and Labels sections of the Image Gallery and upload about 10 new images. Getting very close to having the galleries in order by date. Also adding more facts about each item too. If any of you would like to email Homepage.com and ask them to grant me more disc space, that would be great but I must insist, BE VERY POLITE. I wrote them an email too, so maybe they will help me out.. 01/14/00
: More long over-due updates today! The Image
Gallery now has a whole new section the Print Ad Gallery. It has
everything from newspaper ads to magazines. Check it out! Also, I am beginning
to reformat some of the pages so some sections may seem "wider" than others.
It is part of reformatting the site so that it looks the same at all resolutions.
01/13/00 : This last week was a great success! A week ago, January 5th, we had totaled about 800 hits. It took us about 3 months to total that many hits. For a site like this, that is pretty good. But as of today, we have totaled just over 2000 hits! This is because Homepage.com picked us as Site of the Week last Tuesday. The week is over, so we don't hold the top spot anymore, but we are still listed as one of the top six Informational Sites. Even though most visitors were curious about web design rather than Pfeiffer, I got to meet a lot of great people through email. Because traffic was so strong, I didn't want to tie up the site while I was doing updates, so I saved them for this week. Today I updated the Can and Carrier section of the Image Gallery. I added some higher quality pics and organized the gallery according to date. It is much more user friendly. 01/03/00 : Today over a dozen images were added to the Image Gallery. They include images of Signs and Bar Items. Also fixed a little typo in the Pfeifferiana FAQ section along with some other minor updates. This weekend's New Year's bash at the Miko's Pub was one of the best parties I have every been to! A big thank you to all the Miko family for their generousity and hospitality! Word is they are working on a website. If so, I will provide and link and let all of you know! 01/01/00 : Happy New Year and Season's Greetings! Great news: The Pfeiffer Tribute Page has been named "Site of the Week" by Homepage.com!! Anyone that visits Homepage.com will see a link to this site! As a bonus, they have registered this site with GoTo.com!! Traffic at this site has been very strong with over 750 hits since Oct. 18th, 1999! This will only grow! 12/16/99 : Sorry the updates have been about "nil" for the last week, but I have been busy registering for the bridal shower and house hunting so I have been swamped! But, rest assured, I have been collecting a lot of images and will put those up as soon as I can. Thanks to all of you who have continued to contribute! Your images will go up first! Here is some cool news to chew on for a bit, the old G. Heileman Brewery in La Crosse, Wisconsin has been purchased in the last month! This brewery stood for nearly 200 years and brewed Pfeiffer from the early 70's to the late 90's! The owners of the new "American Brewery" said they will contract brew for other companies and also brew their own beer. It is quite possible that they may be interested in brewing Pfeiffer! I will put the news story that I got this from online very soon and it will be found in the History section! Remember, this is still the most frequently updated Beer site on the web! 12/09/99 : Over the last two days, the Pfeifferiana FAQ section has been given a good face-lift. With input from Gary Bauer and Leon Hampton, three more questions were added. The section also includes an index so now it will be easier to find the answers you are looking for and when new ones have been posted! 12/07/99 : Over the last several weeks, we've been collecting various dates and facts related to the history of Pfeiffer Brewery. By itself, none of the information was enough to update the History section. But that all changed over the weekend when John Stroh III, of the Stroh Brewery family sent a pair of emails loaded with information! And Tuesday, I had a great conversation with someone who was involved in one of Detroit's former distributing companies that filled us in on Pfeiffer's Mafia connection! (Sorry, no names.) To top it all off, today the Detroit Free Press featured an article on Peter Blum and his book Brewed in Detroit. The article also had a little blurb on Pfeiffer. So check out the History section because LOTS of new information has been added in the last two days! 12/03/99 : We gave the Brewery Photos their own page within the Image Gallery and added some nifty bullets to the main Gallery page. The Stories section now has one more entry as does the 32 List (you can find the 32 List in Dunworth's History section. The Pfeiffer Tribute Page is also sponsoring the an auction for two Pfeiffer signs! You can find the link to the auction on the Home page (just click the circular C. Pfeiffer Logo on the top right) and in the Image Gallery's Bar Sign section. And lastly, the "send an email" graphic has been changed to a Christmas theme! 12/01/99 : Wow, had quite a big break! Looking for a home, getting married in May and the holidays took its toll! We started converting the Image Gallery so that every category has its own page. There were simply too many images to stuff it all on one page! We are still trying to figure out how it should be when it is done. Let us know if you have any ideas! New images were added to most categories too. Thanks! 11/24/99 : Added yet another pair of 32'isms to the History section and converted the Links section to the Wood Theme. A few new links were added as well. The Dunworth's Pfeiffer History was given a big update as well. Happy Thanksgiving! 11/23/99 : Had some submissions for the 32 List yesterday, so those were added in the History section. Converted the Pfeifferiana F.A.Q. to the Wood Theme! 11/22/99 : In the Image Gallery, we updated the photos of the gallon sized Pfeiffer cans (the new ones are MUCH better!) and added another photo of a Pre-Prohibition bottle, an empty 3-Pack holder and a rare 7 ounce bottle (unopened!). Also, finished the Original 32 List in the History section! The "Submit Form" for the Message Board was moved to a local file. 11/19/99 : Added another new tale to the Stories section! The History of Pfeiffer Brewery now includes news articles about the buyouts of G. Heileman and of Stroh's in the History section. The Image Gallery now includes some images of a 7 ounce bottle, a patch, a 60's mug and new Photos of the Week. Last night I got another 12 ounce bottle! A big thank you to all the people who have written me congratulating me on my recent engagement! 11/17/99 : Had the day off yesterday, wow! Today we have added some information about Brewed in Detroit in the Interview section (which has been switched over to the Wood Theme) with links to three different online sellers of the book. Also, added were another twelve items to the Original 32 List and a few to the newer 32 List. The Stories section has a few new tales as well! 11/15/99 : Today we added several images to the Image Gallery including some high resolution versions of the brewery images. We switched all four pages of the History section over to the Wood theme. Also, updated were the 32 List with some new entries and added about 1/3 of the Original 32 List from 1997. Both lists are now organized in reverse order so you can easily see when something has been added. They can be found in the Dunworth part of the History section. 11/12/99 : Today we did some fooling with text and colors and added six images to the Image Gallery. The Stories section was switched over to the Wood Theme and reorganized from newest to oldest to make it easier for you to see if there has been a new story added. Hits are going though the roof and the collection is growing! Thanks everybody! So what do you think of the "Wood Theme"? More character than the previous "Modern" Pfeiffer Page? 11/10/99 : Actually got around to making this What's New page. Also changed the Image Gallery into the wood theme. Added more images of labels, some new wallpaper and did some behind the scenes file organizing. Check out Dennis Kucharczyk's image of Johnny "Fifer" in the Image Gallery too! Oh, and we have added a bottle cap and Brewery Photos to the gallery as well! 11/09/99
: Today was a big change! We got rid of the old start page and added the
wood theme. The Pfeiffer Tribute Team also added a link to this What's New section.
And finally, quite a few new images were added to the Image Gallery and
are marked with: 11/07/99
: Added a bunch of new images. Created the "Enter-Multi" homepage.
(now in the Image Gallery.) Created the Interviews link. And the Pfeifferiana F.A.Q.
